A HAUNTING...Yes, I'm still addicted to Discovery Channel, and A HAUNTING is on on Sundays. Anyone ever experienced a haunting?

The closest I've come is waking up in the middle of the night twice in a couple of weeks, just after moving into my house, feeling as if something were sitting on my chest and crushing it. Then it was gone. My house was built in 1929, so there's enough time for it to have some history.

I haven't but that does sound interesting. I took a class about ghosts in folklore and they usually mention the feeling you describe as a sitting ghost. They creep me out.

Yes, every now and then I get a bit creeped out, but I've decided they're benevolent, if they're even there. I take good care of the house, and I've made some improvements, so if they really are there, they seem to be happy.

It also helps the cheerfulness of your house if you paint the walls orange, red, yellow, and blue!

I'm such a yutz, I'd probably set the whole house on fire. ;-)

Oh, also, the bathtub in the house is still the original, complete with funny-looking fixtures. I've never wanted children, but I do often wonder how many babies have been bathed in that tub. :)

I've never felt or heard or particularly believed in ghosts, but I LURVE those "Most Haunted"-type Discovery Channel shows! My boyfriend gets mad because I always insist on watching them before bed and then I'm all freaked out and want to sleep with the lights on.

My sister described a feeling she had in her old house once. She was up in the middle of the night, going to the bathroom in the pitch dark. In the hallway, she suddenly had the feeling of running into someone. She said it felt like the air was really really thick, not like there was an actual person there but like running into a pillow or a fur coat. It freaked her out so bad she went back to bed and held her pee all night!

I really love these shows. Ever watch paranormal something haha i don't even remember the name but it's on mondays at 10. My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy but I'm so interested in this!! I'm also really into dreams. I've never had any "experiences" but I have dreams constantly of people in my life who have passed away and I look at taht as some sort of visit. It feels soo real when it does happen and I wake up and remember it all, feeling like I have really visited my grandfather.

Have never experienced it. BUT my next door neighbor says they see the previous owner, an elderly man who died there.

Does it scare you? What do you do when you see him?

The vibration of the man in the cellar is giving you the visuals. I have had all kind of things happen to me , I know when someone has died in a house when I go in it( I start bawling--its pretty inconvenient), I've had conversations with 'dead people' ( long story).

I dont SEE anything, for me, its a feeling...it's interesting, but it can really scare the people around you when it happens!

This same sense, btw, has kept me out of many bad LIVE situations of all kinds!

My grandmother died in her sleep. It was very unexpected. My mom found out the next day @ 7am. I found out @ 8am.

The night before, as I was talking to a friend on the phone, I sort of felt her there but I ignored it. I think she had died and was making the rounds saying good-bye.

Nothing happened when my g-father died but then I was in his apartment.

When my cousin died (Iraq), that morning, I had CNN on as I was getting dressed. I wasn't paying attention to the news but I noticed (and don't know how it caught my attention), I noticed at the bottom (on the news ribbon) that it said "one Marine killed in Fallujah". That was him. He was the only fatality that day. And we didn't find out about his death til that evening.

My last boyfriend lived in an old fire station which was turned into a loft....we used to hear doors opening and closing in the middle of the night. One night he called me and told me that he had just felt like someone or something had brushed over his face while he was in bed sleeping.
