Ask E. Jean - Tormented? Driven Witless? Whipsawed by confusion?

Advice Vixens

I've got a jeans dilemma: I've ordered a pair of boyfriend jeans and they turned out to be one size too big. OK, I sent them back, ordered a new pair but when I tried it on I noticed this pair one size smaller also seems a bit wider at the hips and legs, so I am puzzled as is this supposed to be the model (the picture shows a girl with the same pair tight on her) or should I also order the next size that is smaller? Shipping the product back cost me something and I'm not sure what to do. I'd like the jeans to be tight on me as well. Hm...sounds rather silly. Any advice?

I'm on the hunt for a good pair of boyfriend jeans too! Some jeans are just ill fitting due to sizing defects. Where'd u order them from? Forever 21 is notorious for that. I never order from them, I have to try everything on.

Have them tailored -- it's a 99% sure bet that they were tailored for the model!

Women's jean sizes are no more consistent than any other clothing, and all brands are cut differently, which you probably already know. I don't know what the tailoring situation is where you are, but movie star jeans fit the way they do because of Dr. Blue Jeanns on Ventura Blvd. who only charged $5 a pair last time I was there.

They're from Asos, I like them a lot. Here's the link: http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Petite/ASOS-Petite-Vintage-Wash-Boyfriend-Jeans-13/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2138290&SearchQuery=boyfriend&Rf900=1497&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Blue. Normally, I like to try things on at the shop as well only that Asos is only an online shop.

That's what my best friend recommended as well, would you say it also works at the waist? I'm not sure about the price for such a modification though, what if it ends up costing more than me shipping the jeans again and see if I like the even smaller size better? I should go and ask, I have someone with such a tailoring place next to me, see if it's doable. Aww, I like how you can get tailoring done and look fabulous! Do you still do this?

Yes, they can tailor the waist. Women in LA take their favorite jeans to Dr. Blue Jeanns to have them converted to maternity jeans and back again.

I'm still way too fat to want clothes tailored for me, but when I'm at my ideal weight I have to either have my jeans tailored at the hips or wear boys' Levi's because I have muscular thighs and no hips.

Working in retail in a store that carries a lot of Boyfriend jeans I am shocked they are tight on the model in the picture as Boyfriend are a relaxed fit jean to mimick how men have larger legs then women and as if you pulled on your "boyfriend's" jeans after sex or from his closest. I would see if you can find a store similiar to where you ordered from and go in and try them

I love this LA concept of tailoring your jeans and only your jeans!
"Way too fat", pardon me?! I think not, you voluptuous goddess! ;)

Hm, so boyfriend jeans are supposed to be that tight? I really like those in the picture and now you've made me wonder how come they look different on me. There is no actual shop for Asos, sadly.
