Ask E. Jean - Tormented? Driven Witless? Whipsawed by confusion?

Advice Vixens

Did anyone see 20/20 the other night? My condition, or disease as I like to call it, finally has a name!

Some of you know that i have posted over time about my hatred for leaf blowers, dogs barking etc. There's a name for it; MISOPHONIA!

THere was a whole segment about it on 20/20 the other night and now I don't feel like a psycho for getting crazy over noises. Apparently Kelly Ripa has the same problem. LOL! Me n' Kelly....

and...all the sounds that drive me nuts are listed as symptoms. It's some kind neurological disorder and they can't figure out where it comes from. But at least I know I'm not alone :) other people hate typing fingernails, chomping, gum cracking, dogs barking, etc., to the point where you feel rage!! I know it's weird, and of course my family thinks it's hilarious, but I feel validated :)

anyway, that's it. I'm happy to have a name for it and a new routine for my act. what disease are you suffering from? :) Hope you're having a beautiful sunday!

ps. there's an online support group for it :)

    I'm suffering from sick-of-school-ness.

It's time for SLEEP WEEK! (that's what the teachers at my school call the week after school lets out)

I'm allergic to UVA rays, not crazy will die from them allergy, but from the time it first starts to get warm to about the end of June I get hives on my chest and arms, and have to take zyrtec every day to make them go away, along with an rx cream.

I have some variation of Misophonia. I can't stand it when it's my conference period (NOW) and my annoying-as-hell student teacher (who is 10-15 yrs older than me) will not stop TALKING TO ME!!!!! What is his problem???? I don't care that Gabon is one of the wealthiest nations in Africa! STFU!

I'm going to another room and getting some quiet. Bye.

I suffer from idiotis in that I do not suffer fools at all, let alone with any degree of gladness. :)

    LOL me too.

C, I also have an issue with noise. Just ask my husband, whom I stop from clicking a pen or tapping or making any repetitive noise.
