Ohhhhh....how cute! the prom. sigh. mine sucked.
anyway, music is ALWAYS a good topic. what kind do you like? who's your favorite? what do you like about them? stuff like that... find out what he's interested in. does he like sports? who's his favorite team? if you dont' know anything about sports, state it up front but still ask him questions about it, such as "what's your favorite sport? favorite player? they love that shit. movies are another great topic....apparently the Avengers are all the rage right now! definitely say a couple of things when you dance, but not constant chatter. say things like "i'm glad you came with me" , tell him you like the song you're dancing to, if you do, if you don't like it then why are you dancing to it? Don't dance to songs you dont' like. hopefully, he'll be talking too :) reply to Lady Sauce send this answer to a friend![]() Lady Sauce wrote: Ohhhhh....how cute! the prom. sigh. mine sucked.

reply to Lady Sauce send this answer to a friendI would talk a little bit during the slow dances but not constantly. You can talk about the song currently playing, the other couples on the floor, the chaperones or the decorations for example so you can be looking around instead of just staring at each other.
Lady Sauce has some good ideas but you can also talk about summer plans, college plans, if anyone has a summer job lined up, etc. as well as the after prom if there is one. He is probably feeling a little awkward too and if all else fails and he is a nice guy, you can mention you are a little nervous. A lot of times that makes the other person jump right in to make you feel better. Have fun! reply to Josephine send this answer to a friendFirst of all, try to think of this all the way around as fun. You're getting dressed up, you'll look beautiful, you'll see all your friends, and you'll dance to some crappy songs. :-) If you think about all the what ifs and try to plan it out, it sort of takes the fun out of it.

1) When slow dancing, should we talk? Because I feel like just looking at each other will get awkward, but if I keep looking around that's kind of rude. Also, if we should talk, what about?
2) We both agreed we wouldn't be shy to dance (to faster paced songs and such), and I really want to go all out and have fun, but I feel like I'm still going to get shy. What can I do to relieve my fear? I want to be able to dance a lot and have him enjoy it too!
3) What kinds of things can we talk about when we eat dinner & any other time we're not dancing. Note: We'll be sitting with 4 of our other friends (reserved table), but just some general topic ideas? I won't know what to say.
4) Any other tips you have about prom?
Thank you so much!
