Advice Vixens

Hey hey!! Kindof an embarrassing question, but do any of you vixenettes have extremely smelly periods? I don't show signs of funk down under UNTIL I have my period. My periods are so extremely smelly. If I throw pads away and leave the trash there for a few days, it smells horrible. Like straight up funky vagina is the name I'd give that fragrance. Why is that?? Do any of you expierence stuff like this? TMI, sorry ... but the blood is almost like is always pretty dark, heavy, and gel like. It's not like regular blood. Any of the rest of you expierence this? Thanks for your help in advance and I hope you weren't eating while reading this.

I know what youre talking about. I used to experience something similar before my periods became so light they lasted a day or two and then totally stopped when i started using the pill. Without giving TMI, it was like a really strong iron-like smell... not pleasant at all.

All I can recommend you do is change your pads regularly (moreso than what you are doing now) and keep the area as clean as possible. If you are concerned speak to your GP, but i found that keeping as fresh as possible helped a lot.

    Why do you use pads?

I've got a super heavy flow, but I haven't really encountered an "overly smelly" problem. But I do know that if you leave used pads or tampons around for a while--yeah, they smell. And that's not just you and me, that's just how it is.

I really want to get the diva cup. But for now I use super tampons, it's no problem.

I'll also go ahead and state the obvious: You may want to consult a gyno. They know all about this stuff--it's what they do. And you're probably due to see one anyway, because all women I know are usually overdue to see one:)

If this is what you're experiencing, why the heck aren't you using tampons? It's the blood that's hitting the air and bacteria, that's causing the stench.

Well it's defenitly a relief to hear a similar story! haha. I throw them out, but when I don't the trash can smells like a dead body. it is NOT pleasant.

Believe me, I've tried tampons. I've tried those gigantic ones (which is what I need) and the smaller ones (they really don't help me). The reason I can't use tampons is because they are so damned painful. I'm not exactly sure why, but they hurt and are uncomfortable. I can use tampons for like a day, then its so uncomfortable the next day that I go right back to pads.

Samantha please don't use the diva cup unless you have had children and tor "stretched". I bought one and it was difficult to put in but impossible for me to take it out, literally, my fiancé had to take it out for me in the shower.... It was not pretty and let's just say im glad he still has sex with me because that was just disgusting :/ maybe i just have a weak stomach

If tampons are painful for you, you are not putting them in all of the way (or you're keeping them in too long?).

But, if you really don't want to use tampons (and hate the smell of pads in the trash), I encourage you to try Glad Rags:

    https://www.gladrags.com/

They are definitely high maintenance, but ultimately wildly cheaper (and more environmentally friendly) than the stuff you find at your local drugstore. I wear them, then handwash until they're as clean as I can get them ... then I wash the lot in the washing machine.

But I'm a huge advocate of tampons. Just change every 2-6 hrs and you're good :o) No muss, no fuss.
