Ask E. Jean - Tormented? Driven Witless? Whipsawed by confusion?Advice Vixens This is highly annoying--but short of shitting your pants at the dinner table and saying you'll change them when he can hold his food in his mouth without spewing it everywhere, I don't really know what you can do. I'll think on it--but I'd probably go on nagging. If he's allowed to be a slob, you're allowed to be a nag. But hopefully some other vixens can come up with a better solution.
reply to Samantha send this answer to a friendWhat do you mean by messy? Does he like "see food"? Does he smack as he eats? Or does he just generally leave the table a mess?
If it's the last (of the three), I would just ignore it. reply to Maggie send this answer to a friendWhat is he doing and why is he doing it?
Is he talking with his mouth full? Or gesturing with his food so it flies around? Is he really as messy as he seems or are you very sensitive about it? One of the reasons I think people eat together is so they have to pay attention to their own food because no one likes to look at someone else eating! reply to Josephine send this answer to a friend![]() He doesn't chew with his mouth open. He has good manners. He's Italian let's say that, so he gestures alot when he talks and if his fork is in his hand when he's excited about what he's talking about, watch out! But food falling off the plate sometimes too...
reply to anonymous send this answer to a friendPersonally, as a fellow Italian who talks with her hands, I find holding a utensil gets in the way. But that is just me.
If I were you, I would laugh and tell him, you can't keep track of what he is saying when you are watching where the food will land! reply to Josephine send this answer to a friendanonymous wrote: He doesn't chew with his mouth open. I think that's adorable. Seriously. I was briefly involved with an Italian man, and he was the same way. Flawless table manners, yet I still came home with bread crumbs in my hair.
If he is wonderful in all other ways, I would let it go. reply to Brynne send this answer to a friendanonymous wrote: He doesn't chew with his mouth open. He has good manners. Okay, that's not so bad. I was picturing somebody sticking their face directly into their plate like a trough and then doing spit take after spit take.
Sit further away from him and laugh it off. reply to Samantha send this answer to a friend |
